Dil Chahta Hai Songs

Dil Chahta Hai starring Aamir Khan , Akshay Khanna , Saif Ali Khan , Preity Zinta , Sonali Kulkarni and Dimple Kapadia was written and directed by Farhan Akhtar. The film is based on screenwriter, Farhan Akhtar's, diaries on his trips to Goa and his 1996 month-and-a-half long stay at New York, and a storyline narrated by a friend, which he used for Akash (Aamir Khan's character).

The movie tells the story of three friends graduating from college and transitioning into life as adults. Each individual has a different perspective of life and love in particular. Akash (Aamir Khan) does not believe in love and is of the opinion that one should never have a girlfriend for more than a period of two weeks. Sameer (Saif Ali Khan) is a genial, well-meaning, desperately romantic and confused guy. He is prone to romantic infatuations and believes that he has found true love whenever he gets attracted to a girl. Siddharth (Akshaye Khanna), or Sid, is an artist by profession and is the most serious of them all; dedicated to his work, he is not interested in trivial romances.

The film was critically acclaimed, winning that year's National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi. It was also a commercial success, though it performed better in the urban areas of the country compared to the rural areas, which was attributed by critics to the city-oriented lifestyle depicted in the movie in which all the characters are, without exception, from rich or at least upper-middle-class families.

The film's style extended to the music and its picturisation in the movie. One song sequence recapitulates, and to some extent, parodies Bollywood dance history. Other songs drop the usual dance accompaniment; one song depicts an argument between two protagonists through the song's lyrics, another establishes the character's state of mind through a moody photo collage, while yet another imagines the beautiful and idealised world of an artist in love through a song inside a painting. There is also an extended opera sequence, which was exclusively commissioned for the film.

Rangeela was A.R. Rahman first hindi movie with an original score and was released in 1995. It was directed by Ram Gopal Varma and starred Aamir Khan , Urmila Matondkar and Jackie Shroff. This movie happens to the biggest hit of Urmila till date and Asha Bhosle made a comeback by singing some brilliant compositions like " Rangeela Re " & " Tanha Tanha Yahan Pe Jeena ". Aamir Khan gave his one of his best performances by playing the character of 'Munna' in the movie. In my opinion he was the unanimous choice for that year's Best Actor Award In a Leading Role but lost it Shahrukh Khan for DDLJ, since then he avoided all the awards function except the National Awards.

Rangeela is a love triangle story of Munna (Aamir Khan), a happy go lucky guy,who does black marketing of movie tickets and Mili's neighbourhood friend. Mili (Urmila Matondkar) hails from a middle-class family,who dreams of making it big as an actress in bollywood. Mili later gets a break as an actress after she is spotted practicing on a beach by Raj Kamal (Jackie Shroff),an established actor who doesn't mingle with everyone around him after a personal tragedy(losing his wife in an accident). The story takes a twist when Munna like any layman believe the gossip between Mili and Raj Kamal. Whether Mili discover her true love in the end ? The movie was a hit primarily because of A.R.Rahman's music and an outstanding performance by Aamir Khan.

Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar is a 1992 Hindi sports drama film from the Indian Bollywood film industry, directed by Mansoor Khan (who earlier directed Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak). The film stars Aamir Khan, Pooja Bedi, Ayesha Jhulka, Asrani, Aditya Lakhia, Mamik, Sanam Oberoi, Deepak Tijori, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Kiran Zaveri, Anjan Srivastav, and Faisal Khan. The music was by Jatin Lalit. The film may have been loosely inspired by the 1979 Hollywood film Breaking Away.

Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander is an underdog story. The story revolves around Sanju (Aamir Khan), a young man from a lower middle class, family successfully beats Shekhar (Deepak Tijori), his arrogant and wealthier rival in an inter-school bicycling race which is the highlight of the small town they reside in. The song Pehla Nasha was the first song choreographed by Farah Khan. In the song 'Rooth Ke Humse Kabhi' when Ratan is lying in hospital, Sanju stays by his side and has flashbacks of his childhood. 'Little' Sanju is played by a very young Imran Khan who is Aamir Khan's real-life nephew and debuted in the film 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' in 2008. This movie won Filmfare Award for Best Film in 1992.

Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak ,which was released in 1988, is a Bollywood film written by veteran producer/director Nasir Hussain and directed by his son Mansoor Khan. The film introduced Hussain's nephew, Aamir Khan to Indian moviegoing audiences. Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak is a landmark movie in the history of Indian Cinema. Its Filmfare Award-winning music, romantic storyline, and young actors shifted the momentum away from the violent and aging ethos that was prevalent in the films at the time. It also made melodious tunes once again popular over the 80's trend of Disco and Breakdance influenced soundtracks which was launched by another landmark movie Qurbani in 1980. Indiatimes Movies ranked the movie amongst the Top 25 Must See Bollywood Films.

The film soundtrack contains 5 songs composed by duo Anand-Milind, and won them the Filmfare Best Music Director Award.
